Deputy Aidan Farrelly asked the Minister for Transport the number of persons that have registered as drone operators in each of the years 2023 to 2025 and to date in 2026; the number of pilot competency certificates issued on an annual basis over that time period; the number of drone operator IDs issued for companies over the same time period; if he will provide an estimate of unregistered drone operators. The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) is the competent authority for aviation safety regulation, including the regulation of civil drones, in the State.

I have asked the IAA to collate the requested information and send a response directly to the Deputy.
