An Article 60 licence is a special licence that allows a vehicle to carry children only on the school transport scheme where a need exists. These licences are issued by An Garda Síochána following confirmation from Bus Éireann that contractors have a contract to provide services under the scheme.

The Department of Transport led on a policy review of the current regulations. Queries relating to the review of Article 60 licences can be addressed to the Department of Transport as the regulations fall under the remit of that Department.
