The provision of a new Renal Dialysis facility at Sligo University Hospital is at an early stage of project initiation. This proposed project could provide a total of 25 Renal Dialysis treatment stations as well as additional in-patient, outpatient and home-based services with associated admin and staff welfare facilities.

Sligo University Hospital previously received approval from the HSE to commence a capital funding application with funding made available to prepare a Feasibility Study for this project, this Feasibility Study was completed in 2024.

This Feasibility Study is under review at a regional management level, and the next steps will be determined upon completion of this review. An updated Development Control Plan (DCP) for Sligo University Hospital will be progressed to determine site capacity and future service developments on the campus, The DCP review is due to be completed by Q3 2026 to take account of new demands within the campus.
