I propose to take Questions Nos. 249 and 260 together.

The Accelerating Renewable Electricity Taskforce’s Management Office in my Department published the Annual Summary Report 2024/2025 and Key Actions 2025/2026 in July 2025. This report sets out the the previous year’s key achievements and actions delivered, highlights challenges faced and presents key actions for 2025/2026.

In 2025 key achievements under the aegis of the Taskforce included the delivery of the RESS 5 Auction, the inclusion of Regional Renewable Electricity Capacity Allocations in the revised National Planning Framework, and the identification of priority grid infrastructure projects.

Work has begun on the Taskforce’s Third Work Plan, which will include a review of the 2025/26 Actions and set out the strategic direction of the Taskforce for 2026/27. I expect to publish this report in Q2 2026.

The Accelerating Renewable Electricity Taskforce comprises some twelve Government Departments and State Agencies and is supported by Working Groups across the taskforce pillars and with relevant industry associations attending Taskforce meetings. The 11th Meeting of the Taskforce took place on Monday, 26 January.
