Youthreach provides a vital service to young people, many of whom are overcoming serious challenges in their lives. I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of Youthreach staff.

Given the potential impact on programme delivery and learners, my officials, in agreement with TUI, have undertaken a comprehensive review of the claim. I am sure the Deputy will agree that, due to the significance of the proposed changes, a thorough and evidence-informed process is essential.

A Working Group, comprising representatives from Education and Training Boards Ireland, SOLAS, and the National Youthreach Coordinator, was established to oversee the review.

A paper is currently being finalised and will be submitted for my consideration in the coming weeks.
