Written answers

I propose to take Questions Nos. 782, 783, 784 and 785 together.

I understand there were 16 reports of alleged wrongdoing received under section 8 of the Protected Disclosures Act and transmitted by my Department to the Office of the Protected Disclosures Commissioner (OPDC) between 1 November 2025 to 30 January 2026 in line with section 8 of the Protected Disclosure Act as amended.

Reports made under section 8 are received by my Department in advance of being transmitted to the OPDC. These are not required under the Act to undergo assessment or follow-up in advance of being transmitted.

I am informed that the transmission of reports was not impacted by the cyber incident affecting the OPDC nor was my Department’s processing of reports impacted by the referenced cyber incident.

My Department complies with legislation and statutory guidance for managing protected disclosures.
