Deputy Malcolm Byrne asked the Minister for Social Protection the number of staff directly responsible for cybersecurity, as distinct from IT, within his Department; if a threat analyst, vulnerability manager and a cyber infrastructure engineer are employed; if not in-house, if this work is outsourced; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerMy Department implements a security-by-design and defence-in-depth approach to cyber security. The Department has a dedicated cybersecurity team with overall responsibility for cybersecurity risk, threat analysis, vulnerability management and cybersecurity infrastructure.
For reasons of operational and national security it is not appropriate to disclose further details of my Department's cybersecurity arrangements.
