View answerHome support services are provided to both children and adults with a wide range of disabilities from physical and sensory disabilities to intellectual disabilities and autism. The home support service assists the person with everyday tasks to enable them to live at home or with family.
Approximately 7,500 people with disabilities in Ireland are currently in receipt of home support with funding provided under Budget 2026 to deliver approximately 100,000 additional hours this year.
The cost of delivering 60,000 additional home support hours is as follows:
€32.73 x 60,000 = €1,963,800.
