I wish to advise the Deputy that senior management roles within my Department are revised in line with priorities as and when required. The most recent changes in my Department have focused on its Infrastructure Division. These changes reflect the priority associated with the Division’s work in the context of commitments to enhance the delivery of infrastructure in the Programme for Government, the Review of the National Development Plan last summer and the Accelerating Infrastructure Action Plan, which was published in December.
To support the delivery of these commitments and the implementation of the Action Plan report in particular, the recent changes to the Infrastructure Division involved the appointment of a Deputy Secretary to lead the Division. The Units within the Division are Infrastructure Delivery and Monitoring; Infrastructure Legislative Reform and Utilities; Infrastructure Regulatory Simplification; Construction Sector Capacity and Procurement; Transport Vote and Climate, Energy and the Environment Vote (including climate coordination); and Housing, Local Government and Heritage Vote Group. The Votes and climate coordination are overseen by an Assistant Secretary within the Division.
More generally, the Who Does What website (www.whodoeswhat.gov.ie) seeks to improve accountability and transparency in the Civil Service by providing details of who its senior managers are and what they do. In this context, the names and job titles of all staff at Principal Officer and above in my Department, including the Infrastructure Division, are available on that website.
