The NSSO review of Pension and ASC contributions for current and former ministers, office holders and other civil servants identified issues related to pension over and under deductions.

As standard in these cases, the NSSO and/or the employer works with the individual to resolve the under-deduction on a case by case basis. Where there is an under-deduction of pension contribution, the NSSO applies a standard and consistent practice to all individuals and employees with regard to repayment plans.

Engagement commenced with all current Ministers/Ministers of State impacted on June 10th, 2025. Follow-up communications to those not then in a payment plan were issued on September 16, and again on November 7, and engagement has been ongoing since to address any outstanding queries.

The NSSO has reached agreement with all current Ministers and Ministers of State.
