I refer to the Deputy’s enquiry concerning the above topic.

My department has six separate contracts, - or Project Agreements -, for Public Private Partnership schools (PPPs). These particular Project Agreements relate to 32 schools (29 post primary schools and 3 primary schools). There is also a Project Agreement with one Institute of Further Education. The Project Agreements are with a number of facility management service providers.

The Project Agreements are for a duration of 25-years, the first of which is due to cease in Q4 2027.

Prior to the PPP agreements ceasing, my department will be in contact with the relevant stakeholders, including the National Development Finance Agency (NDFA) who liaise with the PPP Companies on behalf of my department, to discuss the arrangements relevant to each school going forward.
