Question:

454. Deputy Holly Cairns asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if the two increases in prize money announced by Rásaíocht Con Éireann since October 2025, and the absence of an increase in budgetary funding to this organisation in Budget 2026 means that spending on greyhound welfare, specifically in relation to amounts allocated by Rásaíocht Con Éireann to their homing programme (details supplied), will be reduced in 2026; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 452 to 454, inclusive, together.

Rásaíocht Con Éireann (RCÉ) is a commercial state body established under the Greyhound Industry Act 1958 chiefly to control greyhound racing and to improve and develop the greyhound industry. RCÉ is a body corporate and a separate legal entity to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.

The question raised by the Deputy is an operational matter for RCÉ and, therefore, the question has been referred to that body for direct reply.
