Question:

16. Deputy Roderic O'Gorman asked the Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment if he will amend the Environment (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2025 to ensure that the EPA make decisions within the specified periods, rather than merely endeavour to do so, in order to align with the requirement in the Planning & Development Act 2024 that An Coimisiún Pleanála shall make decisions within the specified periods. The Environment (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2025 is scheduled for Committee Stage in the Seanad today, 25 February, 2026 and I understand that such an amendment has been tabled. I look forward to the debate in the Seanad on this issue.
