Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) tools are not currently used in my Department for drawing up policy documents, speeches, answering Parliamentary Questions, press releases, or other official documents.  All staff in the Department have been informed of the Department's position on this issue.

My Department is guided by the Guidelines for Responsible Use of AI in the Public Service:  [Guidelines_for_the_Responsible_Use_of_AI_in_the_Public_Service_20250918.pdf] (DPENDR, 2025) and by Cyber Security Guidance on Generative AI for Public Sector Bodies: [Cybersecurity_Guidance_on_Generative_AI_for_PSBs.pdf] (NCSC, 2023).

My Department is working closely with the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO), who provide our ICT services, on determining potential future use of AI in line with approaches across Government.
