Under my Department’s Rural Water Programme, grant assistance may be available to support households that are dependent on individual domestic water supplies (private wells) serving a house.

The scheme is designed to assist households in rural areas that rely on a private well as their primary source of water. Grant assistance is not available where a dwelling is connected to a public water supply provided by Uisce Éireann or to a Group Water Scheme.

The eligibility criteria reflect the objective of supporting households that are not served by the public network. The scheme is kept under regular review to ensure it continues to meet its objectives.
