Working Family Payment is a weekly in-work support which provides an income support for employees on low earnings with children. To qualify for Working Family Payment, the customer must be working a minimum of 38 hours per fortnight in ongoing insurable employment and have at least one qualified child who normally resides with them.

Recipients of Working Family Payment (WFP) will have an entitlement to Fuel Allowance (FA), subject to qualifying conditions, from Thursday 1st January 2026, as announced in Budget 2026. The Fuel Allowance payment for eligible WFP customers will issue in March 2026 and include any arrears due.

The number of WFP recipients based in Dublin that are expected to qualify for the weekly fuel allowance payment, subject to qualifying conditions is approximately 12,320.

I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
