The Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment has activated the Enhanced Emergency Humanitarian Flooding Scheme (EEHFS) for small businesses and voluntary, community and sports organisations, which were affected by flood-damage due to Storm Chandra and the subsequent heavy rainfall from the 26th of January to early February.

This Scheme is for small businesses of up to 50 employees (or wholetime equivalents), and community, voluntary and sports organisations, that through no fault of their own cannot secure flood insurance. The EEHFS provides a contribution towards the cost of returning a business premises to its pre-flood condition. Funding may be used to replace damaged flooring, fixtures, fittings and stock. The EHFS is administered by the Irish Red Cross on behalf of the Department.

Farmers and livestock fall outside the scope of the Enhanced Emergency Humanitarian Flooding Scheme.
