Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, which is the organisation referred to in the question, has developed strongly over the 75 years as the national association for the preservation and promotion of Irish traditional music and dance, a voluntary commitment complemented by their promotion of the use of the Irish language.

The CCÉ network of regional and outreach centres has developed over the decades. The CCÉ centre in Clontarf, Dublin (An Clasac) is the regional hub for counties Dublin, Wicklow, Carlow and Kildare. The CCÉ regional centre (Áras an Mhuilinn) at Mullingar is in close proximity to Kildare North. Consideration of the organisation or expansion of the network of centres is an internal matter for Comhaltas. In the coming years, my Department will continue to work closely with CCÉ to strengthen the organisation and to support the development of services for performers and access for the wider audience.
