Deputy Paul McAuliffe asked the Minister for Health if she will consider the inclusion of plenadren, a life-saving medication for adrenal insufficiency, under the HSE hardship fund; if she will consider the appeal case of a person (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. As this is a service matter and under the Health (Pricing and Supply of Medical Goods) Act 2013, the HSE has statutory responsibility for decisions on the pricing and reimbursement of medicines and medical devices, this question has been referred to the HSE for attention and direct reply to the Deputy.
