The standard appeal procedures will apply in this case. My Department has carried out a review and issued a letter to the applicant on 24 February 2026 upholding the initial decision.

This letter also advised of the applicant's right to appeal the decision to the Agriculture Appeals Office, which operates independently of my Department. If the applicant wishes to do so, they must submit their appeal in writing using the prescribed Notice of Appeal Form, within 3 months of the date of the decision letter. The appeal may be submitted using the online appeal portal on the Agriculture Appeals Office website at this link: www.agriappeals.gov.ie/submitanagricultureappeal/. Alternatively, the Notice of Appeal form can be downloaded at the same web link, or obtained directly from the Agriculture Appeals Office, by telephoning: 057 866 7167.

It is also advised in the Notice of Appeal form that an applicant should set out all of the grounds on which they intend to rely in their appeal, and that they should upload/enclose a copy of my Department’s decision letter along with any supporting documentation they consider relevant to their appeal.
