525. Deputy Emer Currie asked the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science to outline the current value of the accumulated surplus in the National Training Fund. [21069/26]

The National Training Fund (NTF) accumulated surplus was €1.77 billion at end 2024, as set out in the NTF Annual Financial Statements (AFS) for 2024 audited by the Comptroller and Auditor-General (C&AG). In line with section 14 of the NTF Act, 2000, the 2024 AFS was laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas on 20th February, 2026. The 2025 NTF AFS have yet to be compiled and audited by the C&AG, but the accumulated surplus is estimated to be circa €2 billion at the end of 2025.
