170. Deputy Niamh Smyth asked the Minister for Social Protection the position regarding an application renewal (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22623/26]

Working Family Payment (WFP), is a weekly in-work support which provides an income top-up for employees, with children, who have low earnings. To qualify for Working Family Payment the customer must be working a minimum of 38 hours per fortnight in ongoing insurable employment and have at least 1 qualified child who normally resides with them.

WFP for the person concerned was awarded on 14/01/2026. A review of the hours being worked by the person concerned was carried out on the 14/02/2026 which resulted in the payment being suspended and further information regarding weekly hours worked being sought. Following a review of the information provided, the department was satisfied the criteria for payment was satisfied and the payments reinstated on the 19/03/2026.

The person concerned was informed of the decision and arrears have issued.
