335. Deputy Louise O'Reilly asked the Minister for Social Protection the first and full year cost of extending the fuel allowance by a further 13 weeks; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23369/26]
View answerThe estimated annual cost of extending Fuel Allowance by 13 weeks is €232.1 million at the current weekly rate of €38.
This costing is based on the number of Fuel Allowance recipients as at March 2026, and on the basis of a 28 week Fuel Allowance season. The costing is subject to change in light of emerging trends and subsequent revision of the number of recipients.
