Deputy William Aird asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if consideration has been given to expanding the existing farm diesel carbon tax relief to include agricultural contractors and to simplify the scheme to improve uptake; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerTaxation policy is a matter for my colleague, the Tánaiste and Minister for Finance, who will provide the substantive reply in this regard. However we do liaise on taxation issues relating to the agri-food sector.
The Deputy may be aware that my Department is facilitating a Contractor Working Group, in line with the Programme for Government commitment, which will shortly meet for the first time .
