Officials from my Department attended the Mobile World Congress event held in Barcelona in March of this year. The Department was invited to attend by the organisers of the event the GSMA (Global System for Mobile Communications Association). This invitation was a result of my Department’s work in emergency radio networks for Public Protection and Disaster Relief (PPDR) blue light services.

The cost of attendance was as follows:

Flights - €811.68

Accommodation - €7,113.35

MWC ticket fees - €2,373.60

Total cost - €10,298.63

Minister of State Feighan attended the event and was accompanied by his private secretary, special adviser and two principal officers.
