Following recent investments, including the expansion of the 20-bed, purpose-built cystic fibrosis unit and completion of the 6-bed interventional radiology day-ward (both completed in Q4 2025), Beaumont Hospital is advancing a number of significant proposals for further capital investment on its campus. All such proposals are progressing through the requisite design and planning stages. As a live hospital campus there is an added complexity in terms of planning, sequencing and enabling each of these projects. All of these proposals are being managed through the HSE capital development process in line with the Infrastructure Guidelines from the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation.

In May 2025, the new Emergency Department received final grant of planning permission. The project is progressing through detailed design stage, and this will inform a tender and market engagement for construction works that will ultimately determine construction timelines. The project remains funded on the HSE Capital plan through the design stage.

In parallel, the reconfiguration of the existing Emergency Department to improve patient flow is progressing with a design team appointed and an application for planning permission now lodged. This is programmed to complete in Q4 2026.

Separately, the 95-bed ward block project at Beaumont Hospital is progressing through the design stage at present.
