The National Concert Hall (NCH), is established under the National Cultural Institutions (National Concert Hall) Acts 2015 to 2023 to provide and operate the national venue for the performance, appreciation and enjoyment of music.

In relation to the specific event referred to in the question my Department provided some advice following a request from the NCH. However, decisions in relation to the event were taken by the executive and board of the NCH. Neither I nor my Department had any involvement with the initial booking, or related communications between NCH and the organisation to which the Deputy refers.

The final decision not to proceed with this event was one taken independently by the Board and management of NCH, in light of all available information.
