The Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg) does not receive Exchequer funding. In accordance with section 30 of the Communications Regulation Act 2002, ComReg is funded by industry levies and licence fees.

ComReg is statutorily independent in the exercise of its functions in accordance with Section 11 of the 2002 Act and is directly accountable for the performance of its functions to Committees of the Oireachtas in accordance with Section 34(2) of the same Act. It also has a dedicated email address for any queries arising from Members of the Oireachtas at oireachtas@comreg.ie, and further information can be sought directly from ComReg.
