876. Deputy Paul Lawless asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine to clarify the taxation and excise arrangements arising from the Government's fuel support package announced in April 2026, insofar as they relate to marked gas oil, commonly referred to as green diesel (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department is providing an income support scheme worth €100 million to assist farmers, farm and forestry contractors, and fishers.

The scheme will operate on the basis of providing a direct support to these groups and will not have any impact on the excise duty on marked gas oil, commonly known as green diesel.

I will announce details of the scheme shortly.
