The school to which the Deputy refers to was granted capital funding for the provision of 2 x Special Education Classroom, approved in March 2026 under my Department’s SEN Reconfiguration and Modular Accommodation programme.

This programme involves the use of Project Management supports which is designed to enable the accommodation to be provided as quickly as possible and help ease the administrative workload for school authorities in relation to the management and delivery of projects.

Following a recent meeting between the Project Manager and the School, the Department and its Project Manager will be working to ensure that this project gets delivered as quickly as possible.

The Special Educational Needs Organiser (SENO) from the National Council for Special Education (NCSE) has been in touch with the school recently and contingency arrangements are currently being agreed.
