As per previous correspondence, the school to which the Deputy refers was approved to enter my Department's pipeline for a project under the Additional School Accommodation (ASA) scheme. The project will provide one mainstream classroom, two Special Education Tuition (SET) rooms, and a two class Special Education Needs (SEN) base. This project was devolved to the school authority for delivery.

Approval has recently been granted for an asbestos survey, and the works are now progressing in line with Departmental requirements. Once completed, and when all other necessary design issues have been addressed, the school’s design team will be required to submit a Stage 2a Developed Design Report from the school authority. When received a comprehensive review will be undertaken from a technical and cost perspective as required under the Infrastructure Guidelines.
