I can confirm that my department is in receipt of an application, under the Additional School Accommodation (ASA) scheme, from the school referred to by the Deputy. While the department approved Modular accommodation for a classroom for students with special educational needs, a further application was submitted for reconfiguration to create additional special educational needs accommodation.

The department’s NDP Implementation Plan has a strong focus on maximising existing school capacity, progressing priority projects where local capacity across schools in the area is insufficient, and ensuring delivery that is affordable, offers value for money, and meets functional needs.

Department officials will engage directly with the school referred to with a decision on the application for funding shortly.
