586. Deputy Shane Moynihan asked the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science for a list of all further and higher education services available in the Clondalkin area; whether there are plans to increase the number of such services; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Thank you, Deputy, for this question.

There is a strong and expanding Further Education and Training (FET) provision in Clondalkin, delivered across three principal Colleges of Further Education - Coláiste Chilliain (Clondalkin), Kishoge Community College (Clondalkin/Kishoge area), and Green Isle Campus (Clondalkin).

Across these locations, a total of 334 FET courses are available in 2026, representing a significant increase from 203 courses in 2025. This marks substantial growth in local provision, reflecting targeted investment in FET to support access, skills development, and lifelong learning within the community. The courses span a wide range of disciplines and levels on the National Framework of Qualifications, supporting learners both in progressing directly into employment and in accessing pathways to higher education.

Clondalkin also benefits from its proximity to the established Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) Tallaght campus, which provides a broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across multiple disciplines. This campus is easily accessible to residents of Clondalkin and forms an important part of the higher education provision in the wider South Dublin region.

The Department continues to work closely with SOLAS, Education and Training Boards, and higher education institutions to ensure that provision is aligned with local and regional needs. The continued expansion of local FET provision, alongside access to the nearby TU Dublin Tallaght campus and a broad range of higher education institutions across the Dublin area, ensures that learners from Clondalkin have access to a wide and evolving range of educational opportunities.
