View answerI am aware of the concerns raised by car rental fleet operators regarding the Clean Corporate Vehicles proposal. We engage regularly with representatives from this sector and have met with them several times over the past year, including discussions specifically on this proposal.
It should be noted that the measure remains at proposal stage, with negotiations currently underway at EU level. The Regulation will not be finalised until such time as an agreement is reached between the Council and the European Parliament. This process is expected to run through 2026, which intersects with Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the EU.
