My Department owns, operates, and maintains six designated State-owned Fishery Harbour Centres (FHCs) under statute at Killybegs, Howth, Castletownbere, Ros an Mhíl, Dingle and Dunmore East.
The FHCs contain a diverse property portfolio reflecting their role as working fishery harbours and as the locations for a broad range of other marine activities. Rental rates for all properties within the FHCs are determined by periodic valuations provided to my Department by Tailte Eireann, which is the state body responsible for valuations for Government departments.
All income generated by the FHCs is lodged into the Fishery Harbour Centres Fund under statute. My Department prepares annual Financial Statements which are required to be audited and certified by the Comptroller and Auditor General prior to being laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas. Therefore, the rental income figures provided in respect of 2025 and 2026 are to be treated as provisional figures until such time as the Financial Statements for those years have been completed and laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas.
The information requested on rental revenue in each of the Fishery Harbour Centres is outlined in the attached table.
