Written answers

As Minister, I intend to bring forward amendments via the Child Care (Amendment) Bill 2025, to place the National Review Panel on a statutory footing. In addition to enhancing the work of the National Review Panel as well as strengthening its governance and independence, this legislation will improve its ability to compel information and witnesses in respect of all reviews that it undertakes. Following engagement with the Attorney General’s Office, it is likely that amendments will be brought forward during the Oireachtas legislative process for the Childcare Amendment Bill, once the relevant provisions have been drafted.
