339. Deputy Erin McGreehan asked the Minister for Transport if he will provide a timeline for the design, consultation and implementation of the proposed new grant-based vehicle adaptation scheme. [36519/26]

Minister of State at the Department of Transport

My Department has been tasked with developing a new Vehicle Adaptation Scheme (VAS), the purpose of which is to improve functional mobility by assisting with the cost of vehicle adaptations. My officials are currently engaging with stakeholders to finalise the principles and parameters of the new scheme. It is hoped that the Scheme will be open to applicants in Q1 2027.
