Staffing arrangements for primary schools are published annually. Those arrangements include information on the staffing appeals criteria and application forms for appeals which schools may use to appeal their staffing allocation to the Primary Staffing Appeals Board. The Appeals Board operates independently of the department and its decision is final. The most recent circular is Circular 0025/2026.

The Statistics Section of my department publishes extensive data in relation to our schools, including aggregate class grade tables - https://data.cso.ie/table/ED106

The information requested by the Deputy in relation to the numbers of staffing appeals is attached.
