Education and Training Boards (ETBs) or their schools are not encompassed by the State Indemnity.

Insurance cover for ETB schools is arranged as part of the overall insurance cover of the ETB concerned which is provided to the ETB through Irish Public Bodies Mutual Insurance Ltd (IPB).  Such insurance encompasses ETB schools, head offices and other educational settings.

The total insurance premium payable by the ETB reflects the risk profile of the entire ETB and is not broken down by individual school or other setting.  As a result, it is not possible to provide an average insurance cost for a single school or student.
