The ILGA-Europe ranking is a useful comparative indicator of legal and policy protections for LGBTIQ+ people across Europe. Ireland has made significant progress in recent years and continues to have strong equality protections. The Government remains fully committed to advancing LGBTIQ+ equality. Work is ongoing through the implementation of the National LGBTI+ Inclusion Strategy II 2024 – 2028 and the associated Action Plan to address key actions and to continue strengthening Ireland’s position as an inclusive and equal society for LGBTIQ+ people.
