View answerThe Passport Service in my Department provides a secure, accessible and timely passport service to our citizens. The Service regularly issues close to 1 million passports annually, within expected turnaround times.
In addition to meeting the high demand for passports and Foreign Birth Registrations, the Passport Service also continues to invest in ongoing reform and digitisation projects.
The number of full time equivalent (FTE) staff working in the Passport Service as of 15 May 2026 is detailed by grade in tabular from below. Those staff work in offices in Balbriggan, Cork and Dublin city centre.
