I propose to take Questions Nos. 661 and 662 together.

The First Home Scheme supports first-time buyers in purchasing new houses and apartments in the private market, or building their own home, through the use of an equity share model within price ceilings established across the country.

The Scheme is overseen and managed by the First Home Scheme Ireland Designated Activity Company (DAC), on behalf of the shareholders - the State and participating mortgage lenders. This DAC is responsible for collating and issuing statistical information as it pertains to the Scheme. Since the launch of the Scheme in July 2022 to Q1 2026, the Scheme has approved 258 eligible applicants in Wexford with 129 of those applicants having purchased their homes and, in the same period, 748 applicants have been approved in Wicklow with 442 of those applicants having purchased their home. Further information on the First Home Scheme can be found in its quarterly report on its website - Quarterly Updates.
