27. Deputy Shónagh Ní Raghallaigh asked the Minister for Transport if he is aware of the proposed reduction of bus services to Castledermot (details supplied); if the NTA plans to provide an alternative service; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [44210/26]
View answerAs Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport; however, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport.
Further, The route mentioned by the Deputy is a commercial bus service operated by JJ Kavanagh and responsibility for the operation of the service is a matter for the company.
In light of the NTA's responsibility in this area as the licensing authority for the commercial bus sector, I have forwarded the Deputy's query to the NTA for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within ten working days.
