Under the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, Ireland is required to deploy suitable solar energy installations on all new, roofed car parks physically adjacent to buildings by 31 December 2029, if technically suitable and economically and functionally feasible. The transposition of this Directive is being led by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage with officials from my Department providing input where applicable.
