The Shared Island funded Sports Club EV Charging Scheme provides funding to install a network of publicly accessible chargers in communities nationwide through their local sports clubs. Included in the scheme are 219 clubs of which 171 are in Ireland and 48 in Northern Ireland. There are four eligible clubs in Kerry: An Ríocht A.C., Ceann Sibeal - Dingle Golf Links, Killarney Celtic Football Club, and Spa GAA Club. Of the eligible clubs in Kerry, three have received ‘Notification of Commencement’ letters, including the Spa GAA Club.

Overall, 130 clubs have been approved for funding and Grant Agreements issued, and 54 Notifications to commence work issued. Installations works have begun at a number of sports clubs around the country.
