241. Deputy Ryan O'Meara asked the Minister for Transport further to Parliamentary Question Nos. 340 of 3 March and 871 of 14 April 2026, if the Iarnród Éireann national carpark strategy report has been completed; if it has issued, given that it was planned for completion and issuance to the NTA in Q2 2026 for review; the position on extending the carpark serving Thurles Railway Station given the high demand, particularly in the mornings, for those travelling to Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport; however, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport.

The query raised by the Deputy is an operational matter for Iarnród Éireann. I have, therefore, referred the Deputy's question to the company for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within ten working days.
