163. Deputy Louis O'Hara asked the Minister for Transport the actions his Department is undertaking to improve enforcement surrounding the misuse of disabled parking permits; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [46992/26]

As Minister of State for International & Road Transport, Logistics, Rail & Ports, I wish to advise that, although my Department is responsible for the legislation underpinning the Disabled Parking Scheme, the enforcement of misuse of permits, as with all road traffic enforcement, falls under the remit of An Garda Síochána.
