134. Deputy Malcolm Byrne asked the Minister for Defence to outline the measures she has in place to protect the national Defence Forces memorial at Merrion Square, Dublin; and if she will address recent concerns about activities by commercial operators at the memorial. [47984/26]
View answerThe National Memorial for the Defence Forces, located in Merrion Square Park, Dublin, is located on land owned by Dublin City Council. The Council is responsible for the management and maintenance of the memorial, and the Defence Forces have previously liaised with them on these issues.
Regarding the recent concerns mentioned in your questions; I have asked my officials to make direct contact with the Council on this matter with a view to ensuring the impact of such on the site is not repeated.
