Deputy Mairéad Farrell asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Finance to provide figures of the cost overruns by his Department, relative to the budgeted amount in Budget 2026; the cost overruns by his Department, relative to the budgeted amount in Budget 2026 for each State Agency under the aegis of his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Tánaiste and Minister for Finance

The Department of Finance monitors its annual budget in accordance with the Department’s business plan and on-going developments. The Department does not anticipate a budget overrun in 2026.

All of the relevant Bodies under the Aegis of my Department are operating within approved 2026 budgets and do not forecast any expenditure overruns at this time.
