528. Deputy Conor D. McGuinness asked the Minister for Social Protection the number of Irish citizens that are receiving State pension contributory but are permanently based outside the State as of 22 June 2026, in tabular form. [48776/26]

Entitlement to state pension contributory is determined based on a claimant's social insurance record.

Information on the total number of Irish citizens receiving the state pension contributory while living abroad is not available. As statistical information captures claimants in receipt of state pension contributory at the end of each month, I can confirm that at end May 2026, the records of my Department show 51,155 state pension contributory recipients reside outside the State.

Recipients living outside the state are listed in the table below. Fifty-six countries have fewer than ten recipients, and for confidentiality reasons these are not listed individually.
